Consistently repeatable crash in ACR 13.2.0.738 when using enhance

Consistently repeatable crash in ACR 13.2.0.738 /PS 22.3 on Mac Pro 5,1; 10.14.6; GPU RX580 when using 'enhance'.

Opening NEF files Nikon from Nikon D500 in ACR - when I choose 'enhance' from the 3 dots on the right the enhance window opens. When I click to see with/without enhance I see little or no difference. If I wait the Mac sometimes crashes. If I click 'super resolution' then it always crashes the Mac, sometimes instantly, sometimes only after 20 seconds or so. It has never completed the process.

When the Mac crashes it's an instant total crash - a click and a black screen. As far as I can tell (but I'm no expert) it's too instantaneous to write anything to a crash log.

I've tried deleting preferences, turning off openCL, turning off GPU in ACR & PS individually and both off, set drawing mode to basic, changed the scratch disks. None of these make any difference.

I've attached the latest camera raw log but I don't think it helps.

Any thoughts anyone?

Exact same issue as well on similar hardware/OS version.

Mac Pro (Mid 2010)

2 x 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Xeon

64 GB 1066 MHz DDR3

Radeon RX 580 8 GB

Mojave version 10.14.6

Photoshop 22.3.1

Adobe Camera Raw 13.2.0.738

I suspect that all Mac Pro 2010-2012 running Mojave are affected. Anyone else? Please chine in.

We have several here in the office and will test on them. One, not on Mojave is working, so likely an issue limited to Mojave.

I should also note that this happened with Canon RAW (CR2) files rather than Nikon NEF raw files mentioned in original post, so I'm think the issue is related to ACR's Enhance feature on the Mac Pro (2010-12) with upgraded video cards for metal support to allow for Mojave. I suspect Adobe does not test this hardware scenario as this is not the first time this kind of thing has happened in the past. Searching Adobe forums shows several issues over the past few years.

I don't think it's Mojave related - I had this with Sierra, High Sierra and then with Mojave. It was in an attempt to solve it that I upgraded so maybe I should be grateful.

I won't go through all the many hair-tearing tests and trials I tried but the TLDR is that it's a GPU problem and, if yours is an RX-580, there's a tiny switch inside (see attached pic) and that if it's set to 'Gaming' instead of the usual 'Computing' the crashes stop. Hope it works for you. Let us know?

Having the exact same issues as described above. As soon as enhance is clicked it momentarily for a brief second goes to the super resolution window and instantly crashes my PC.

It's not a PC issue as running AMD FX-8350 Eight Core CPU, 32Gb DDR3RAM and AMD Radeon 590 GPU.

Adobe clearly there are issues. We pay good money for this software and it seems that there is a distinct lack of testing before its launched otherwise people would not be having these problems. Come on folks and sort this out properly.
