Good morning,

I use OS BIG SUR on Imac Retina

Camera Raw 13.1 update, the Mac freezes as soon as I try to work the photo, unable to exit CR, the Mac turns off and restarts.

I encountered the same problem with Lightroom Classic and CC

I have disabled the GPU, CR works but the workflow is very slow

Advice?

Thanks in advance

Same issue, crushingly slow, long hangs. I've noticed that when working from the top of the menu panel down things are generally ok until I get to the Texture/Clarity/Dehaze section and below. That's when things go off the rails. No matter whether opening a TIFF, Nikon RAW (NEF) or other.

Thank you Jane I'm glad that Adobe has decided to do this and then fix the
problem with the with Camera Raw 13.1 before rolling it out again. A HUGE
thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This crash is happening in our labs as well. I found that when I open raw files, instead of trying to adjust them, just 'open'. Once in Photoshop, the camera raw filter works just fine  (though every now and then it would have a slow hiccup)

We're rolling back to Camera Raw 12.4 today, since that seems to be working for most others on the 'net who have been struggling with this.

Wow am I glad I'm not the only one! Well not really glad, but you know what I mean!

I am working on a MAC with OS 10.14.6 Mojave and the new Camera Raw 13.1 keeps freezing my computer also.  I have tried the multiple things suggested on this topic and it is still crashing !  So I tried Camera Raw in PSCC  2019, 2020, and the new one 2021 and it still freezes!  Adobe needs to get on this NOW please! ( did you hear that Adobe?)

BTW, I installed Adobe Camera 12.4 and it works fine for me. Just google it and you're good to go!

You have just SAVED me!! Thank you! I just did the same and it appears to be working fine. Trying to get through a couple projects before the holidays and was feeling doomed. Now there is hope!!

The exact same issue! My computer has crashed 6 times toady, almost every time I try to make an adjustment in camera raw. If I open more than one I'm doomed. Have lost a lot of billable hours! So frustrating.

I am forced to work with the graphics accelerator disabled and it slows down my workflow a lot. If Adobe doesn't fix it quickly, I switch to another software.

This also did not work for me using Windows 10.  Will roll back to Camera RAW 12.4 now.

Try trashing your Photoshop preferences. Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) immediately after launching Photoshop. You will be prompted to delete the current settings.

(Mac OS only) Open the Preferences folder in the Library folder, and drag the Adobe Photoshop CS Settings folder to the Trash.

This action only affects the items found in the preferences dialog box. Numerous program settings are stored in the Adobe Photoshop Preferences file, including general display options, file-saving options, performance options, cursor options, transparency options, type options, and options for plug‑ins and scratch disks. Brushes (and lots of other setting) are not affected by the above instructions for deleting preferences. You may wish to make a screen capture of the settings in the Preferences dialog to reset them prior to deleting of this file.

Thanks, I performed the operations he described to me but nothing has changed, in Library, Preferences there is no Adobe CS folder, I deleted the settings from Photoshop and tried to start the graphics GPU and Camera Raw blocked me again the Mac.
