Crop tool in ACR zooms-out of image and does not return

When I crop an image and finish with it the new crop does not fill the screen. Its stays the same size and just removes all the pixels outside the crop. In previous versions when I would confirm the crop with the enter key it with bring the new images to fit in view. Its is frustrating that I have one more button to click now every time I crop and every time and slightly adjust the crop.

Im using ACR 18.4 on a 2024 M4 Mac Mini

This has also been driving me crazy. It makes it very difficult to see if you’re getting the crop you want on the first go. And if you’re zoomed in and click the crop tool, you can’t even easily drag the corners without exiting the crop tool, zooming out, and cropping again. I do birds so there is a ton of cropping involved. If it’s possible to roll back this update and restore the previous version I’d certainly be interested.

Agreed!!! I can do “command + 0” as a shortcut, but it’s still not a solution. Someone else mentioned they found the previous camera raw version and just rolled theirs back to that. Either way, Adobe should definitely fix this issue. It’s terrible!

Hi Erik, there was nothing in that video specifically about cropping. It was a bug last year when I reached out with the same issue. It's doing the same thing now.

Soory, should have pionted out that the video describes all the new features in 18.4. The info about the new behaviour of the crop tool begins 10 mins from the start.
