CS5 and Sony ARW 'raw' files

Be aware that ARW files are not the same for each Sony camera. Each Sony camera model comes with its own, unique ARW file format. So Adobe has to periodically issue new versions of Camera Raw to support new cameras.

Every new camera model means a Camera Raw update required.

You have Camera Raw 6.7 - the latest for CS5. We're currently up to Camera Raw 12.4 which is only compatible with Photoshop 2020.

The latest ACR version that will work in CS5, ACR 6.7, was released in 2012. It was then replaced by CS6, which in turn has been replaced by six or seven subsequent major versions. You are eight years behind.

Old software versions don't get updated, except sometimes for security reasons. But they don't get new features or new functions. This is nothing special for Adobe. All software works this way, everywhere, from every company and vendor.
