Custom DCP vs built-in Camera Neutral.
I shoot RAW with a Nikon P1100.
Ninety-nine percent of my photos are of birds.
I use the latest versions of Adobe Camera RAW and Photoshop to edit the photos on my Windows 11 laptop. I do as much of the work as possible in ACR, mostly with subject masks. I export the highest quality (12) JPGs as the final product.
Until recently, I had always used either the Adaptive Color, Adobe Color, or Adobe Standard profiles as an editing base. I just discovered Camera Neutral, which is much better, I assume because it is tuned to my camera model, which ACR detects.
I spend a lot of time editing my photos and am very obsessive, as I compare slider changes in increments of one. With this in mind, if I make a custom DCP profile from a color calibration chart, would this make the editing job even easier and allow me to make better JPGs, or would it be a waste of money, since it would not improve on the built-in camera neutral profile?
