Hi I recently had updated phtoshop which was the worst decision. After the update camera raw would not let me add images to photshop by draggin them. I deleted Camera raw file but now Photoshop cannot not find a file. How do reinstall Camer Raw?

Although most Creative Cloud apps are only installed/uninstalled through the Creative Cloud desktop app, Camera Raw is an exception: Adobe does provide a downloadable standalone installer for the Camera Raw plug-in. You can download it here, and run it to reinstall Camera Raw.

If Photoshop doesn’t let you add images by dragging, that feature should not have been removed or changed in any way in the new version. I can still import into Photoshop using drag and drop, although that info isn’t so useful to know because I’m on a Mac instead of Windows. But maybe it was the Photoshop installation that went awry, and maybe that is the application that should be uninstalled and then reinstalled, using the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Reinstalling Photoshop would have reinstalled Camera Raw automatically anyway, and I don’t think the Creative Cloud desktop app lets you specifically install or uninstall Camera Raw separately from other apps; it’s installed if you install an app that uses it. So your goal of reinstalling Camera Raw would be met either by reinstalling Photoshop from the Creative Cloud desktop app, or by using the standalone Camera Raw installer.

All installs and uninstalls are handled in the CC desktop app.
