"Enhance Details requires a graphics card with Metal support"

Photoshop updated 3 days ago, now when I try and create 'Enhance Details' in ACR I get: Unsupported Hardware "Enhance Details requires a graphics card with Metal support".
Any fix? is there some preference type file I have to trash? (i saw this fixed it for someone that had the same problem in LR).

This worked before update. Macboo Pro, OSX Catalina, ACR 12.2, graphics: Intel Iris 6100

I have the same issue on a 2019 iMac. Imac supports metal but enhance under photoshop camera raw says I don't have a graphics card that supports metal. I have the latest version of adobe apps and camera raw, as well as the latest mac os update.

Try deleting the file TempDisableGPU2. Some report that fixed this disconnect.

I did a search on my Mac and can't find the file TempDisableGPU2. Where is
it located?

I'm having the same problem. I have a Macbook Pro from 2016 a Radeon Pro graphics card that supports metal. But I can't open my files and use Enhance because I get "Enhance requires a graphics card with Metal support. But my graphics card soes have that, but it still won't enhance my files. What gives?

I'm having the same problem with my 2017 iMac using Enhance in ACR. Photoshop sees the GPU but ACR doesn't. My card supports Metal so amy idea why it is not working?

Hi there,

Enhanced details in Camera Raw requires a GPU with metal support. GPU acceleration happens automatically on compatible systems for Enhanced Details and is not controlled by Camera Raw Preferences.

To find out if your computer supports Metal, see this https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205073

Thanks,

Akash

I have the same issue. I checked and my 2017 MacBook Pro should support metal. Please advise.

Hi there,

Sorry that Enhance Details is not working on your 2017 MacBook Pro.

Which version of Lightroom and Camera Raw are you using and what is the version of macOS are you running on your computer.

Enhance Details is also accelerated by the GPU. Using a compatible GPU can provide significant speed improvements on high-resolution displays, such as 4K and 5K monitors.

Please review this tech note for details on supported and compatible GPU's: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/acr-gpu-faq.html

Please checkout the suggestion offered in this article https://feedback.photoshop.com/conversations/camera-raw-and-dng/lightroom-classic-83-enhance-details-fails-initial-gpu-environment-test-unsupported-hardware-requires-a-graphics-card-with-metal-support/5f5f46134b561a3d42724b82?commentId=5f5f49024b561a3d4249a334 and let us know if that helps.

Thanks,
