Failed to import RAW files of Sony A7R3A to the latest version of ACR or Lightroom

    I bought my new camera Sony A7R3A(screen-improved version of A7R3) last week which used the same sensor and processor as A7R3.

    But I can not open the ARW files to Photoshop with Camera Raw 13.2. I tried it in Lightroom 10.2 with ACR 13.2, but it can open neither.

 

    After searching it in the users' group of Sony A7R3A, I found that all our ACR users cannot open RAW files currently. The solution they chose was to import the RAW files into the SONY official software and convert it to TIF so that we can edit them in Photoshop. It is inconvenient and most importantly it damages the quality of images. 

 

When did you guys upgrade the ACR to support A7R3A and A7R4A by just adding one line of code of these two camera model names?

    Little bit off the topic, but i recently purchased sony a7r3a and my camera has strange issue, the battery looses charge even if the camera is powered off completely. The rate is of discharge is around 20% in a day. Does anyone else faces same issue?

    It doesn't matter if the camera uses the same sensor as another supported model. There are other identifiers within the raw file that identifies the camera model that camera raw reads, and the plug-in needs to be updated to recognize the new models before it can support them.

      If you use a EXIF editor to remove the A from from the ILCE-A7R3A where the red arrow is on the pic above. Photoshop will import it. I sppoke to a Sony Pro Specialist and they said that Adobe should make all versions that support the ArRIII cameras to support the A7RIIIA because they are exactly the same. The only thing different about the A7RIIIA and the A7RIII is the "A" has an upgraded LCD Screen. everything else is the same.

      That camera was just released right? All 3rd party raw converters need time to hack and support the new and unnecessary proprietary raw. Thank Sony for that.
