GPU for ACR?

When using the latest version of ACR, I see a popup window which says that in future I will need GPU to operate ACR. Will I need to buy an eGPU to operate ACR on my iMac 2019? Will using Lightroom to process my RAW files provide a work-around?

All 2019 iMacs have Radeon Pro cards, but the base 21" model only has 2GB of VRAM which may not be quite enough in the future. Your best bet is to start thinking about/saving for an Apple Silicon Mac. Your computer should have another couple of years of support from Apple and Adobe.
