Question

I want to revert to Camera Raw 15.5

I wan't to replace Camera RAW 17.2 with version 15.5 on my  elderly PC with Windows 10. How can I do it, please?

Previously, I could just delete the version I didn't want and download a new one, but now CR seems to have infiltrated Lightroom as well as being the file converter add-on to Photoshop.

Background...

A few days ago, I updated LR Classic, Photoshop and Camera RAW to versions 14.1, 22.5.9 and 17.2 respectively. Adobe CC said all these would be compatible with my elderly system. Unfortunately, the interface in Lightroom Classic is now confused by a new interface that hides familar tools (eg spot removal and other masks) behind strange new icons which often don't work.

I reverted Lightroom to version 14.0 (verified in the About... menu) feature but it made no difference.

I also keep getting pop-ups advertising AI features that I know I can't use on my current system., and this nver happened before.

A little on-line research leads me to suspect that the culprit is Camera RAW 17. This is the latest version, much newer than my LR and PS versions which lack the modern system-heavy features.

I'd be grateful for help. I will be upgrading but I've got urgent tasks I don't want to interupt over the next few weeks.

Camera Raw 15.5 is not available for download. You will have to contact Adobe Support for that.

However, if you post your system info, it might contain clues to what the problem is.

In Lightroom Classic, go to Help > System info, click the Copy button and paste in a new reply.

Camera Raw has been an integrated part of Lightroom since version 1.

Please post a screenshot of the entire Lightroom window with an image open in Develop.

Do not attach the screenshot, use the Insert Photos button in the toolbar to embed it in your post.
