I was working in ACR today when I got an error The Graphics processor has encountered an out of memory error  " Due to a run time error GPU acceleration has been disabled for the remainder of the session.   I clicked on OK, and when I tried to go back in ACR to pull a photo I'm editing ,  it would not allow me to get back in.  Not sure what to do.

Windows 10 on a Desktop

my graphics card is Nvidia GE Force RTX 3060 ( just did a new release update on 5/18

What else do I need to add to my post for help ?   I'm not very computer literate, but I'll do my best.

Thank you

Janice Butler

I think you should find the time to read through this rather comprehensive help article:

I don't know what you mean by "...pull a photo..."

How are you trying to open an image in Camera Raw - from Bridge?

The RTX 3060 should be adequate.  Have you updated the NVIDIA driver to the layest version and are you using Studio drivers (essential) as opposed to Game Ready drivers?

Have you checked in Camera Raw Preferences that GPU Acceleration is enabled correctly?

What happens when you attempt to open a Raw file?

Hi Erik ,  I just got the msg again,  let me try to answer your questions intelligently.  Yes, I am opening from Bridge.  I keep the driver updated, or at least as updated as I thought I should update , today is 8-23-24 & the last update I did was 6-29-24,  should I update it mthly ?   last update was almost 2 mths ago.  Ok, now this is where I may not sound smart enough for my driver information.  I watched a You Tube video on Game vs Studio,  I need to have it on Studio,  I have an Icon on my desk top that looks like this,

I think this is good    In my Camera Raw preferences,  ( screen shot of my preferences in ACR ) how should it be enabled correctly ?  Normally when I attempt to open a raw file , it opens & I don't have any trouble.   I'm going to go ahead & see if I need to update,  I bet I do.   Thanks so much for your help

GeForce Experience should notify you of available driver updates. I don't use it any more as I don't have a GeForce GPU now but this certainly used to be the case. There is also a dropdown somewhere within  where you can choose studio drivers rather than game ready drivers. The alternative is to download directly from NVIDIA website:
