Question

Intermittent change in behavior when opening multiple raw files in Photoshop/ACR?

Hi - I'm on MacOS 12.6 (Monterey) and current Photoshop (v24.0.0) and Camera Raw(v15.0).

Before today, if I right clicked on several photos in the MacOS finder or in PhotoMechanic and selected Edit in Photoshop, all the files were loaded into the ACR film strip at the same time (important for panoramas and HDR).

Today, I selected 3 files (.NEF) and attempted to do the same - only two files appeared in ACR, then when I cancelled out of that edit, ACR re-opened with the third file.  This happened either from PhotoMechanic or Finder.

Very strangly, I just tried to open different files (3 at a time) several times and it worked as expected, but the original 3 files still exhibit the behavior.

Has anyone else seen this behavior?

Fortunately, I was able to work around the problem by dragging the three problemeatic files into an empty Photoshop window and they opened together.

Thanks,
Don

Thanks - I've already done that - it's opening the correct program, but sometimes not all the files at once.

Even though the problem is consistent with these three files, I've not been able to repeat the problem with other sets of files (which minimizes the impact but increases the oddness of the situation!)
