DONE, is save in ACR right? If make the image BW, and want that saved you have to click done? I click done and widow closes. How do done  ie, save what done, without box closing? thanks.

Here is what the buttons do:

Cancel: Exit without saving changes. If a sidecar XMP metadata file exists for a raw file, it isn’t updated.

Done: Exit and save changes. If a sidecar XMP metadata file exists, it’s updated, otherwise it’s created to save the changes.

Open: Exit, save changes, and open in Photoshop. If a sidecar XMP metadata file exists, it’s updated, otherwise it’s created to save the changes.

Sounds like you want to click Open.

Camera Raw also has a Save button/command, but what it really does is export copies of selected images.

Thanks guys ok did not know that, if Open,  in PS, even if don't save anytyhing which in PH, cancel in PS, close out, all your ACR settings are saved just by opening, right?

And if want save without opening then do Done...

(Done) saves only the ACR editing metadata, either to a raw sidecar file or embedded in an RGB file. ACR edits will only be visible in Adobe editing Apps (Photoshop, Bridge, Lightroom-Classic).

(Open) will 'Open' the raw image into Photoshop with the ACR edits.

Essentially yes, done is done (save edits but don't render/open).
