jxl export appears broken

Since updating the jxl files i've made re no longer readable by any program and appear to be several mb larger.

 

I've tried downgrading photoshop and bridge but the issue persists so assume it is from camera raw

Another computer with camera raw 16.3 is ok, but I can't find how to rever to 16.3 from 16.4, only to much earlier versions that do not support jxl as an export format.

I am not able to replicate this failure using your instructions.  The resultant JXL from CR 16.4 appears intact and works in Photoshop, Safari, Lightroom, etc.

Thanks for taking look.

 

I've managed to get 16.2, and can confirm the problem.  jxl produced by 16.4 with the same settings are larger, and won't open in some other software - including Agisoft Metashape 2,1, but also Photoshop 25.7..0

attached are some screenshots showing the different file size and the failure to load the image produced by 16.4
