Latest Photoshop Camera RAW issue

Question

Now when opening a file in Photoshop with Camera RAW, it doesn't leave the extension (CR3 in my case) and hyphenates it from how many times that filename has been opened. Seems ok, but then my actions that are set to save files now forces the name of the file into the action. Thus running a batch or even one action writes over the previous one because the name is being forced rather than maintaining the original filename. Anyone else experiencing this or did Adobe just totally screw those of us over that batch process newly opened RAW files?

ACR treats all proprietary raws as read only, it shouldn't have any effect on the raw or alter the extension. Could it be this action and can you describe or show what the Action is supposed to do?

We need a lot more details on the full workflow.
