Lightroom 4 issues with Canon 5D Mark iv

I just recently purchased a Canon 5d Mark iv and wanted to edit some pictures but Lightroom 4 (what i've been using)  will not allow me to preview the pictures to know which to try to import and edit. Is there a fix to this?

    Your camera model requires a minimum of Lightroom 2015.7/6.7 to support the raw files. The only way you will be able to import them into Lightroom 4 would be to use the free standalone DNG converter to create DNG copies that could then be imported and used with the older version of Lightroom.

    Lightroom 6 is still available for purchase as a standalone product. However, it is no longer being updated and there will be no more upgrades to the standalone product. It does support your camera after you install the updates that were made available after its original release.

    In my opinion, your best choice would be to subscribe to the Creative Cloud photography plan and install Lightroom Classic CC and the latest version of Photoshop. However, this is a subscription option that requires a monthly or annual subscription.

    Thanks Jim, sounds like i've been outdated for some time. Subscribing to the monthly service sounds like its the best way to go.

    That would be my choice for sure. You will want the Creative Cloud photography plan, and you will want to install Lightroom Classic CC. Lightroom CC is also available for you to use. But it's a cloud-based Lightroom that isn't as full-featured and will probably confuse you. You can look at it, but it's different. There's tutorials to teach you how it's different than how to use it. I'm just offering a cautionary alert because many have become confused about the two versions.
