Question

Loss of metadata when working from NAS (result of 12.3 upgrade?)

Hi

I recently upgraded to Camera Raw 12.3 and regretted it instantly. I reverted quickly back to 12.2.1.

The issue I'm having is that when working directly from the NAS (Synology DS 1618+), as I have done for a long time, the metedata is being wiped when JPGs are produced from the CR2/ CR3 files.

It doesn't happen when working locally on my iMac. When working locally, the tags stay in place and the caption is duplicated from the RAW to the resulting JPG.

Maybe it's nothing to do with having done the update, but I wonder if there is a residual trace of it on my machine that is somehow causing this problem?

Any help on how to solve this would be hugely appreciated as I'd like to preserve my existing workflow.

Thanks

James

Update - I have just noticed that this problem doesn't happen when I work on older files stored on the NAS.

So if I go back to a shoot from 2014, tag and caption some CR2s and then process them, the metadata is retained. Strange...

Hopefully someone can help me!
