Is there a way to invert negative images in camer raw? I use my DSLR to photograph negatives in raw format.

For color negatives, you can also try the Color Negative preset on a Curves adjustment layer in Photoshop.

It does a pretty good job with the orange mask, but some tweaking of the RGB channels is usually required.

You can invert using an inverted curve which should be a good starting point for B&W negs. For color, the orange mask is the 'issue' and takes some work to remove to provide a color appearance you like.

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply. It looks interesting, but just as
time-consuming, I should think as my present method of opening in Photoshop
2022 raw, cropping, clicking on auto colour balance, saving then opening in
Photoshop, inverting and tweaking in various controls like auto color. Best
