New Light and Color tabs ruin workflow in Bridge update

The two things creatives change the most image to image are exposure and color balance... with the new update, exposure is in a new tab labled "Light" and color balance is under "Color" - so you have to click between the new tabs on each image to edit.

This is killing my workflow. I can't be the only one to find this extremely inconvenient. It feels like the person who made this choice doesn't actually use Bridge. Poor choice.

What you discuss here has nothing to do with Adobe Bridge. Those panels are found in Adobe Camera Raw, which may get started from Bridge but is a separate application.

In Single mode, you can Cmd/Control-click on the other to have both open. Unfortunately, if you then open another, both will close and then open as single. Probably your best bet is to press Cmd/Control+1+2 at the same time so both open simultaniously. Unfortunately, yeah, pressing KBSC again doesn't close panels.

I super hate this too. Just when I'd gotten used to my keyboard shortcuts to get between panels, they changed them again.

Like the Adjusments Panel, I'd very much appreciate a Legacy view.

@Erik Bloodaxe Thank you! That's a great fix. (Not as good as having them right next to each other, but seriously, thank you!!)

@polyxo Yes... but my system doesn't show Camera Raw as a stand-alone app, it's built into Bridge... so I thought this was the best place to post. Thank you for the correction.

@SunnybrookPhoto I had searched myself and you are correct: There is no subforum for Adobe Camera RAW – which is actually quite puzzling! I now feel sorry for my advice.

We were both wrong – that post has now been moved to the ACR forum 🙂.

ACR isn't built into Bridge. If you don't pay for the Creative Cloud you are allowed to use Bridge as a free file-browser – without ACR. ACR is peculiar, as you have to use Bridge or Photoshop to open it. Technically, however, it's a standalone application, which you also update separately from Bridge or Photoshop.

The functions previously found under "Basic" are now to be found under "Light", "Color" and "Effects". Three panels rather than one I'm afraid.

If you use "Multiple Panel Mode" (right click on any panel and select it) you can keep the three panels open at the same time which saves a few clicks.
