Will there be an update to support NEF files from the new Nikon Z fc camera?

Just released 13.4 now seems to support the Z fc (I'm just downloading it + Photoshop/Lightroom update).

Those who know don’t talk. Those who talk don't know.

This is a user to user forum, some here are under NDA but, we can't tell you.

So sad. Fortunately, ON1 and Nikon NX Studio supports the files.

As will Adobe

You might consider asking Nikon why, every time they release a new camera, they insist (like others) on producing a proprietary raw that hardly differs at all from the last and requires ALL 3rd party converters and their customers to wait on getting a raw to 'hack' and update their software. It cost them time and money, and you too; for ZERO reason.

The JPEG in your new camera is accessible from day one; it isn't a proprietary format like that new NEF. Nikon could do the same (as could Canon and others), they play this silly game after every release of a new cameras.

This fact is what is really sad; camera companies providing you a camera, then holding your raw data hostage, for awhile.
