Opening wrong version of PS
I have both Photoshop (24.5.0) and Photoshop Beta (24/7/) installed on my system. The Beta was installed after Photoshop itself, but with CC monitoring and updating I am no longer sure which is the latest version. As a general rule I use Bridge to process images and so the sequence with double-clicking raw images has been Bridge -> ACR -> Photoshop Beta until recently. Suddenly ACR (or Bridge, I don't really know which) has changed the sequence to Bridge -> ACR -> Photoshop. For some reason if I use a tiff instead of a raw image I get the proper sequence of Bridge -> Photoshop Beta.
I first checked to see if I still had the problem if I specified what to use by right-clicking on the image in Bridge, but that process still works and if I specify the Beta the ACR opens the image in the Beta. But if I just double-click then ACR opens in Photoshop. The Bridge file associations specify that my raw images should open in the Beta, but they don't unless I specify.
I tried renaming Photoshop, thinking that if Bridge or ACR could not find Photoshop it would just go ahead and open the Beta, but that did not work and ACR then just closed and I found myself back in Bridge. I suppose I could uninstall Photoshop, but that seems like an extreme step to fix this issue. I saw posts about this problem for people working on Windows systems, but I work on a Mac. Can anyone suggest a fix?
