This post applies to Camera Raw.
Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Ecosystem feedback can be found here.
Previous Early Access Feedback can be found here.

Generative Remove makes it easier to remove unwanted objects and distractions with a simple gesture, even on complex backgrounds. For more accurate results, be sure to include the object's shadow in your selection and/or expand its size.

Detect Objects uses AI to find the objects underneath a brushed area. The masked areas will now appear larger than the Early Access version of this feature. You can also circle objects for quicker selection now.

We have also updated the spot selection experience to make it easier to manage variations, switch the fill type, refine the selection area, or re-generate as needed.

Batch updating is also now supported for Generative Remove spots.

As Generative AI analyzes portions of the image that have been cropped out, Camera Raw has the ability to toggle Show Uncropped Image is now available to guide you in your Generative Remove selection.

Try out the latest updates and share your feedback with us here. Please also include the following details in your post:
  • App version
  • System details
  • Example image(s) if you wish to share

Our team continually monitors this thread to track issues for future improvement. Thanks!

No it doesn't make it easier! I want to be able to choose the area that it clones from and as far as I can tell that is no longer possible. I'm just removing dust specks and distant birds but I like doing this in Camera Raw so that if I go back and make further alterations I don't have to redo removals. The AI tool frequently does not choose a compatible area to clone from but before I could alter its choice. Can I have the old tools back please!

I think you are mistaken. Generative Remove never had the option to choose a source area.

You are probably confusing this with the Heal and Clone Options each of which has a source area which the user is able to move if necessary. If you don't see that option then press "V" to reveal the overlay.

I was referring to the clone tool, apologies. I had completely missed the tiny tick box at the bottom, it used to be in a logical place with the visualise spots. I can't say I'm impressed with the Generative Remove either as unless an area is completely plain it seems to struggle.

This is the results I get when using reflections in camera raw. I've tried different files and results are all the same. I am using a a raw formate? What is my problem?

Hello,

removing reflections is a great tool, but I would like a extra option to exclude / include regions of a picture.

Sometimes parts are wrongly seen as reflections.
Taking over parts from the original after removing them is difficult because there is a difference in shade.

Where is the overlay function in the Heal tool?????? It is useless now, as without I cannot correct the place where the tool takes it's info

Press "V" to see it. It is a toggle, press once more to hide overlay again.

I'm afraid that if you've already decided to stop making changes to the software and functionality every stupid day, and let the tools that work well continue to work, because that way you won't force me to always install an older version. I don't understand how I, as a customer who pays your salary, deserve to have your Abobe take me back and forth every 2 weeks as a guinea pig. It's not fair that you're using me as an experiment. The AI generative erasing tool worked better yesterday than it does today, because according to you, the brush is less useful today and does not give us the good help it was given. (?). Until yesterday, I didn't get a warning about alleged 'misuse' because it's just a brush and not an image generated by indicative text. WTF? I don't understand this useless policy of having to do pre-tests and tests with the software, which leads you to remove the useful function of 'visualising' or 'not visualising' the box that allows you to see the symbol of the tool to see well the change produced. All this and much more can be found in the Adobe Circus and its daily clowns. Please sit down and decide how to develop the tool before you start updating it!

I have all the latest updates. Trying the feature on a ARW file. This should be an perfect example for reflection removal.
I get a not very informative error message a few seconds into the attempt.

I am having problems when I use the Generative Remove tool, which clearly shows what was done. I´ve never noticed it before as clearly as today, is there any update I need to make for this to work properly?

Thank you!
