Question

Prevent 'healing brush settings' from saving in profile?

I photograph models in a studio so once I am happy with all the exporsure and others settings I will open that XMP file in ACR and then tweak each image.

Last night I had a model with a small blemish on her face. No problem as with ACR I can use the healing brush and it is going without have to visit PS.

The problem is the next image I open and apply the settings of the previous image will have the edit from the healing brush. I turned off saving most of the profile info but it still happens. Any idea of how to prevent this?

How are you making your initial adjustments, exposure etc., before opening in ACR?

How do you "apply the settings of the previous image" ?

If you are copying various settings, try this:

  1. Open in Camera Raw the image from which you wish to copy settings while simultaneously opening all the images to which you wish to copy the settings. You can open as many images as you like, memory permitting.
    2. In the filmstrip, select the image from which you wish to copy settings then in the dropdown menu (point at this image and click on the three dots) select “Copy Selected Edit Settings” (Note the keyboard shortcut if you intend to use this lots.)
    3. In the "Copy Edit Settings" dialogue which opens, select what you wish to copy but DO NOT SELECT HEALING since this is what is causing issues for you. Click “Copy”
    4. Now select all the images to which you wish to copy settings. In the dropdown menu again, choose “Paste Edit Settings” (Note keyboard shortcut again.)
