PSE 2020 with R6 CR3 files

I have an older version, elements 2020, and it does not process my new canon R6 CR3 files.

Is there a version of elements that will do this? Does traditional Photoshop or Lightroom do this? If I need to switch programs, I am willing, but I really just want a streamlined way, like I've gotten used to. I have always enjoyed just purchasing elements and not paying a monthly fee. Anyone have any great suggestions? Thank you in advance!

You should be able to upgrade the camera raw plugin in your pse 2020 to read the Canon R6 CR3 files

by following the directions in this Adobe KB:

Hello,

I have Elements 2021 (19.0.0.0) and I installed both of the raw installers (14.5 & 16.2) and neither works on my Windows 10 system with plenty of resources.  I still can't see an image on my CR3 files from my Canon EOS R6 Mark II Mirrorless Camera.  Both installations ran flawlessly.  What am i missing?

See: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

This will show you the cameras and versions of ACR/LR is supported. If you can't update (or don't want to), to a newer version, the only alternative is to convert your proprietary raws to DNG using the free DNG converter.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.
