Replacement for Camera Raw

Are there any free alternatives to Camera Raw?
I'm using Adobe Bridge and for some reason, Camera Raw used to work, but now it's not. Is there any free software that does exactly what Camera Raw does, including updating the adobe bridge file directly and indicating that the file has been edited?

Nope, not available. There are free RAW processors but to use the one from Adobe costs money.

Do you pay for current Adobe subscription or did you purchase before a perpetual PS ? otherwise just having a free Adobe Bridge is not enough to run ACR ( legally, not techically )

I'm just using free Adobe Bridge. I know that I can't run ACR for free but I was hoping there was an alternative that interacted with Adobe Bridge the same way the ACR does.

The answer is no.

Now downloading the old version of both that used to work? Possible.

Does exactly free or otherwise. No.

Each raw processor is unique and proprietary to each manufacture.

Maybe describe the problems with Camera Raw for a resolution?

The problem is the price. I'm fine if there are fewer features or whatever but the main thing is that I want whatever it is to interact with Adobe Bridge as Camera Raw does.

I know it's unlikely that there's a free solution but I'm posting here as a sort of last-ditch effort before just paying for it
