trouble to Installing ACR in a MAC

Hi Everyone.

Good Day..!

I'm pretty much newbie to the photography and ACR.

I was trying to install Camera Raw on my Mac. (Tried both 13 and 12 versions) But after the installation cannot find the application but the files in 'Application Support' folder. Cannot start the SW. Please note that I don't have PS or any other photo editing software on my machine. Is ACR stand-alone SW which can run by itself? Or it's only a plugin to the PS. If I can run ACR without PS, how can I do that. DMG file extracting properly and installer is running and SW getting installed properly. But after the installation app cannot be seen in the finder or launcher. Only the files and also cannot see the application file inside the SW folder.

Please Help.

Camera Raw is not a standalone application but a plugin for photoshop.

 

In other words you need an adobe application like photoshop or photoshop elements in order to use camera raw.

    And to add to the reply by @Jeff Arola 

    Photoshop-Elements uses its own specific 'limited version' of Camera Raw, not the ACR Plugin for Photoshop. The Ps-Elements CR can only be upgraded by purchasing an Elements upgrade.

    You cannot!

    Yes- "it's only a plugin to the PS." and you require a subscription to the Photography Plan that installs Photoshop.
