Question

Lag with large puppet file size

A large PNG stacked puppet photoshop file with 12 groups with each about 34 layers is showing extreme slow down on everything I am doing. Changing triggers to renaming. All seems to struggle.

When it goes live and it's all prepared. All works as intended.

650mb photoshop file.

If you can't share the actual PSD file, perhaps you could share the .puppet file without the actual PSD asset. This would anonymize all pixels, but wouldn't anonymize things like layer names and the PSD structure.

To do that, try this:
* CH>File>Export Puppet
* CH>File>Import>Import the puppet you just exported
* CH(Project Panel)>Select the puppet>Navigate to the PSD location shown in the Properties panel
* Delete that PSD file on disk(make sure not to delete the PSD for your original puppet, only the new one)
* Now your puppet should update and be all colorbars for missing footage
* CH>File Export Puppet

It would also be interesting to see if your performance problem exists in this new puppet without the PSD link.

I'll try this one out later today. Great idea if I understand it correctly.

Are you willing to share your puppet with us privately? It may be a limitation based on the size of the puppet, or possibly machine configuration. Or a bug.

I can share my screen but unfortunately not the puppet. GDPR as it has images of my staff members when they were as a kid. Happy to show you though through Microsoft Teams? Let me know if that works.
