Hi Everyone!
We would appreciate everyone (if you haven't already) use the beta and specifically the new GPU changes.
You can read more about it here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/character-animator-beta-discussions/feature-focus-modernized-gpu-support/td-p/13220574

If you have an existing Character Animator project that you think is slow to render, please try and render an MP4 file and confirm it looks correct. Please post your results, especially if you encounter any issues.

Character Animator (Beta) Version 23.1 builds (v23.1.0.16 and later) now have improved stability and performance when drawing content in the Scene and Puppet panels, and rendering to disk, by updating the GPU requirements from OpenGL to use Metal on macOS and DirectX 12 on Windows. Recent macOS systems should support Metal. Windows systems with older GPUs might require updated display drivers to support DirectX 12.

Thanks!

I found a 20% fps drop when using the beta version. GPU is definitely engaging, but preview is still unusable at 11fps on an unfinished puppet. Behaviors and the way they are "optimized" is what I have observed to be the true issue in performance.  Find ways to scale back unnecessary processes like duplicating behaviors for reused sharables or requiring additional trigger behaviors on sharables when already on puppet root.

In summation the beta in general seems slower and doesn't solve any of my issues.

Honestly, I just wish you'd give the mocap and lipsync technology to the after effects team at this point. I've wasted hundreds of hours with CA since it was created, and have waited for the software to get more advanced performance features so the software could catch up to my project needs. (Which aren't that intense.)
