Severe lag on M1 iMac and MacBook Pro

Question

I've been using the Character Animator beta for a while on my M1 iMac and M1 13" MacBook Pro and it's been very smooth and responsive until now. This morning with the latest version of the beta installed both machines are having troubles such as:

Stream from FaceTime camera is laggy
Stream from camera often drops out and disappears altogether
Pressing 'Calibrate' button does not result in facial features being recognised
Moving / talking does not control the character
Playing back existing project is very laggy / jittery

I am experiencing exactly the same behaviour on both machines. If I uninstall the beta and install the latest production version then performance is smooth as expected.

This sounds like an issue we recently noticed and fixed internally. Build 22.4 Beta 25, which should be available later today (sooner if you force the CC app to check for updates) will hopefully fix this. If not, definitely let us know.
