Question

The Split command is a bit lost.

Hi,

Can you please add a Split button in the timeline area? Beside the new Shy button would be useful instead of having to look for the split option in the menu system or try to remember Ctrl+Shift+D. Renaming it Cut or slice would be more intuitive also? When you have to edit a lot of Visemes it gets a bit cumbersome.

Thanks for the suggestion! We used to have more icons in the timeline but have since removed them for the sake of simplicity/clarity. For me, I use the keyboard shortcut all the time for splitting - I'd imagine it would be more cumbersome to keep moving back and forth to activate a split icon. It is a bit of a catch all term - if you use it on a track or take it will split it into two rows, while with an individual viseme it will remain on the one track but just split the viseme (same with triggers). Split is used a lot in video editing so I think we want to keep the terminology consistent, but I agree that we could make it more accessible to more users. Maybe even a right-click command to split at playhead might help make it more discoverable.

Another way to split visemes & triggers is to hold down the opt/alt key to get the razor tool.

Cheers. Funny how there is no reference to that in the Keyboard shortcuts. Also found that if you click on a viseme and hit the / key it split the viseme in half.
