Authentication Functions - Why not a GetAllGroupsUserIsIn()

Hello!

Is there a reason why there isn't a function that would allow a programmer to Dump all the Groups a user is in? For me as a programmer, I would like to see what groups our network admin added a particular user to. For example, a GetAllGroupsUserIsIn(AndreP) could return a list of those groups that I am in. Great for debugging, etc. Can this be done?

Thank you. I just downloaded a great cfc called ntsecurity.cfc that does exactly what I need.

Yes, we have done this in the past in our Windows network with both the
Java NT authentication and LDAP/AD to get all the groups users are in
and do fun things with them.

    Ian!

Thanks for your reply - I just resolved an issue where our network department misspelled the name of the group I requested be added, and so I though my code was correct, access was denied for those users because of their typo.

How much effort are we talking here? UDF? (Nothing in cflib.org.) Java class? Custom tag? It's a total mystery to me.

    Sincerely,
    Andy
