I would suggest taking a look at learncfinaweek.com .  This will walk you through building an application.  You can also download the sample code from the course.

No such resource exists to my knowledge. You have to start by writing a specifation of your needs. That involves the description of all system processes and data structures that are required. It is best if you build your system yourself, from scratch.
