Bulk mails from Flex Coldfusion App

Question

I want to send newsletter to all subscribers (more than 2000
mails in a single shot ) from Flex- Coldfusion application. Also i
want to log the details after sending each mail. While testing i
send 1000 mails to may gmail account but it is taking almost all
one day to reach mt inbox from the spooled location. Also in
another occasion server seems to stop responding to mails i.e i has
to restart the server. Could you please tell me a solution?

You are probably best to batch the messages - say 250 perbatch and delay between batches, say 5-10 minutes as a startingpoint. You can do this with <cfthread> or a scheduled task.That said the CF mailer can handle a pretty high number of mailouts- in the millions as I recall.
