bulk sms with coldfusion

I am thinking about designing a coldfusion application that will allow my clients to sms their customers promos, news, etc.  I need to receive text message from the customers to add them to the text club, then at a pre-determined date/time, I send out a bulk sms to all the people that have signed up.  I noticed getting a short code is very expensive.  I would love to use a short code, but I cant manage the costs.  I also know there are companies that specialize in this, but I want to integrate into an already existing coldfusion app.  Does anyone here have any experience with bulk sms and coldfusion.  I have researched twilio a little, but are there any other companies that I could partner with in order to get this done?

    CF 10 has an SMS Gateway.  I played around with it, a bit, nothing serious - just trying to get a feel for it.  Seems pretty straightforward.

    You should be carefully utilizing the SMS marketing technique without irritating your potential customers. I am so happy that with the help of heymarket real estate text marketing we have been getting good results and our marketing team send really meaningful and to the point texts so the conversion rate is also high.

    What exactly is an SMS API? API stands for application-programming interface. This means that it is basically a set of programming standards and instructions, which you use when you access any software application or tool on the web. Now, you’ve probably heard of SMS gateways: they’re the systems that allow computers to both send and receive SMS.

    Expert Texting Email 2 SMS feature allows users to easily send Text Blast to multiple recipients of your email. This feature allows you to send bulk SMS from any email client / application to any mobile phone worldwide. Therefore, you do not need to login your account or remain connected to the Internet for sending SMS.

    Hi. We use Nexmo.com and integrate their RESTful API with ColdFusion. Works great and you can get call backs so that you can tell which SMS's have been received by the recipient. It is as easy as to send a SMS in ColdFusion:

             <cfhttp method="POST" url="http://rest.nexmo.com/sms/xml" timeout="30">

             <cfhttpparam type="formfield" name="username" value="yourusername">

             <cfhttpparam type="formfield" name="password" value="yourpassword">

             <cfhttpparam type="formfield" name="from" value="yoursenderID">

             <cfhttpparam type="formfield" name="to" value="whatevernumber">

             <cfhttpparam type="formfield" name="text" value="Text message body">

             <cfhttpparam type="formfield" name="status-report-req" value="1">

             <cfhttpparam type="formfield" name="client-ref" value="Your client reference string">

             </cfhttp>
