Can coldfusion run on a server that does not have coldfusion on it

Hey I am being ask if is is posible to run cold fusion on a server that does not have cold fusion or do they need to have a copy to run their web site.

Yes, you must have a production licensed CF server to run your CFML pages.

The developer's edition license will allow you to serve code to TWO IP addresses only.

This is typically adeqate for a developer who has his site hosted with a web host that supports ColdFusion, and uses the developer edition strictly for testing from one or two IP addresses.


If you wish to host the site yourself, you will need the standard or enterprise version of ColdFusion server.

A coldfusion engine of some sort must be installed on the server. That could be ColdFusion itself, or BlueDragon or any of the products on the market that support CFML.

If I got the developers edition of coldfusion would I be able to deploy a web page off of a 2008 sps sever or do i need the stander or enterprise coldfusion sever to host the web site.
