Question

Can't access cold fusion 2021 interface console.

Hello I recently upgraded my office coldfusion11 server to the coldfusion 2021 server.  Once the upgrade took place I was no longer able to access the coldfusion admin interface. I currently configured the site to run on IIS. I have attached a screenshot of the error I am getting. 

 

Any feedback or help is greatly appericated.

Frank, while you show using port 8500 for the admin (as you should), the 500 error can have any number of explanations.

 

Have you looked at the cf logs, to see if anything is reported there about the error? 

 

And have you confirmed that cf2021 is running and indeed listening on port 8500? 

 

You also mention having setup an iis site. Did you disconnect that from cf11 (using its wsconfig tool) and then connect it to cf2021 (using its version of that wsconfig tool)? And does that site work or not? You've not said. 

 

I realize that all this troubleshooting and diagnosis may be beyond your expectations of what you should have to understand. You "may just expect things to work" in such an upgrade process. I will say that if you prefer to indeed just see it all solved in less than an hour that's the sort of work I do on a remote consulting basis. More at carehart.org/consulting.

I know that CF 2021 changed a lot of stuff about how it's secured, and that includes the CF Administrator. Can you provide more information about the questions you were asked during the upgrade, and how you answered them?
