Cannot register a access database?

Hello,

I had to recently recover my hard drive and lost everything. After reloading my programs including CF8 i tried to re-register my database with the admin page. But I keep getting the following error...

Connection verification failed for data source: homerville
com.inzoom.adojni.ComException: Cannot start your application. The workgroup information file is missing or opened exclusively by another user.
The root cause was that: com.inzoom.adojni.ComException: Cannot start your application. The workgroup information file is missing or opened exclusively by another user. in Microsoft JET Database Engine code=3149 Type=1

Could someone please tell me why this is happening? The database worked fine before the recovery. The database is registered as Microsoft Access with Unicode. I also tried the Microsoft Access setting but I kept getting a invalid password error. I know for a fact that this is the correct password. Any help would be appreciated.

"The workgroup information file is missing or opened exclusively by another user."

That is the key phrase.  This is a feature/function of Microsoft Access and your Microsoft Access is not happy since it can not find the workgroup information file it knows and loves.  I am affraid it has been way too long for me since I had to deal with this. (Nearly a decade.)  But if you where to search for this error in relation to Microsoft Access, you should be able to find plenty of information about it.

Hopefully even a solution.  But you may need to crack your database to get back into it.
