Question

catching errors

Hello,
I have seen on various websites that if there is an error of some sort it redirects the user to a page that informs the user that there has been an error and the administrator has been notified. I would like to do the same but not sure where to begin, can someone point me in the right direction so that I can accomplish the same thing and also have the error details emailed to me? TIA

for starters, download cf developer's guide pdf from adobe.com (it is
free) and read the chapter on error handling. read up on <cferror>
tag and onError() Application.cfc method in CFML reference (also
    downloadable from adobe.com)
