I am trying to install cf10 mandatory update but I am not being successful. The instructions say the is a "jar" file, however when I download the update it is a "zip" file. There aren't any instructions on where to extract the file to. I've tried extracting to a temp folder but the available instructions are not of any help. By the way I am on a windows 7 machine. Someone's help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Where are you downloading it from?  It's a JAR when I download it: http://www.adobe.com/support/coldfusion/downloads_updates.html#cfm10

    The instructions are here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/10.0/Admin/WSe61e35da8d318518-33adffe0134c60cd31c-7ffe.html

Both those links are from the main "ColdFusion 10 Mandatory Update" page: http://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/coldfusion-10-mandatory-update.html

Thank you for your quick response. When I go to link above. The file is shown as ColdFusion 10 Mandatory Update (Jar, 5MB). When I click on that link it brings up a download box which shows "cfm_mdt_updt.zip.

Are you using some sort of download manager or strange browser "security" extension that might mess with things?

    The download is a JAR.

Suggest using a different browser to D/L it.
