Question

CF and failed email

When I go to me CF Admin and enter my exchange mail server, then test the connection, the test is successful.  Yet, all emails sent via CF are ending up in the Spooled and Failed folders.  No emails are begin delivered, even thoughh the exchange server is functional and working.

Any idea what may be the issue?  Any help would be very appreciated.

What information, if any, is in ColdFusion's mail, or other, logs?  On a Windows install this is usually located at C:\ColdFusion8\logs\ .

In the Logs folder, the mail.log does not have any entries since July 7.

The mailsent.log also has no entries since July 7.

In the Mail folder, the Spool folder has 159 emails from July 7 to today.

The Failed folder has 72 emails from July 7 until today.

Interestting.  What does it mean if these emails are failing, but not even included in the mailsent or mail log?

Check the "Error Log Severity" setting in the CF administrator. You might try changing this setting to "Debug". It is possible your current settings are not logging failures, but this seems odd to me.

This hotfix for mail with attachments might be useful.
