CF7 & Access database connection

Let me preface this by saying I've never used ColdFusion before, so please excuse my naivety.

A few of our ColdFusion apps using Access databases stopped working, getting a "java.sql.SQLException:  Timed out trying to establish connection" error when you try to connect.

I then went into the administration tool, and clicked "Verify All", and sure enough every single Microsoft Access connection failed with the same error, while the SQL Server ones passed.

I cannot edit or add any data source with Microsoft Access specified as the driver;  the window has a progess bar, but it never changes the page.  I am able to edit/add a datasource with a different driver, such as SQL Server.

As far as I know, this stopped working all of a sudden.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?
