CF8.01 / IIS7 / VISTA X64 ANSWER

I had what seems to be a common problem installing cf8.01 on a Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit machine. New computer with only IIS7 and CF8.01 (other than the junk that was preloaded). When the CF install was finished, I went to the administrator page to find and IIS error stating the file couldn't be served as there was no handler. I serched the lists here, but found only more questions and suggestions that didn't work. I finally found the answer on HouseofFusion's CF-Talk thread. Here is the link:

Hope this helps someone.

Good info. There are also other failure causes with CF on Vista:

    Here is a good walkthrough:

Here is the bugger that seems to nail the most victims to the wall, as you described, but with pretty screenshots:

There is also at least one more issue that for me, was insurmountable. I fought the bug and the bug won. Here is a bread crumb:

Vista SP1 - CF Service will not startSomething screwy about the JNDI database connectors. After a couple days, I gave up, and now FTP files up to a dev area instead of simply saving and refreshing a browser window.
