Using cfhttp to sslv3 connection am getting an intermittent response like so:

Charset: [empty string]

ErrorDetail: I/O Exception: Premature EOF encountered

FileContent: Connection Failure

Header: [empty string]

Responseheader: struct [empty]

Statuscode: Connection Failure. Status code unavailable.

Text: YES

quite the pain, anyone have any other ideas,

This article indicates this was a cf 7 issue and was fixed in cf8 (all latest patches) but am unable to find any evidence to support this claim. Am running CF 8; http://www.talkingtree.com/blog/index.cfm/2006/11/14/ColdFusion-Protocol-Tags-CFHTTP-CFINVOKE-CFLDAP-support-SSLv2

I have no experience with that specific error, but are you saying you are or are not running with all the latest patches yourself? And are you on 8 or 8.01? There have been 4 CHFs for each. Be sure you are applying the right hotfixes for your version. It's easy to make a mistake, as I outline here:

Yep, I think I remember reading that article when wasting hours figuring out the which ones to remove and the order to put them on which to do things.

Just double checked; version is 8,0,1,195765 with hf4.

I did see just now a 2 new ones cpsid_86589 and cpsid_84585 but these appear to be unrelated- though cpsid_86589 is quite interesting! So  almost have all the patches.
