cf8 dev and older pc

I have an old Compaq Presario walmart pc. The stats on it are: 750MHz Duron, 512MB RAM, currently have 20GB and 30GB hard drives and planning on upgrading HD (100GB+), onboard nvidia vanta (8mb tnt2). If I get a larger hard drive, XP Pro, and put ColdFusion 8 developer on this computer, would I be able to get things done, or will this be extremely slowed down?

    if you mean to use this as a w/s to develop on i think you'll need more ram
    pretty much whatever editor you chose. and what about a db?

    I have Studio 8 on another computer that I'm planning on using to develop the web pages. I'll store everything on the compaq. More or less like a server. I have (on my other computer), and am planning on installing MySQL on it.
