Question

CF8 installed, remove CFMX6?

My question is: Should I uninstall CFMX6 after a successful CF8 install? (standard, single server only needing to run CF8). Did some due diligence and made sure everything is using the CF8 mappings. Copied over custom tags, etc. I'm looking for a doc from Adobe to make me feel comfortable in this decision, but not finding anything about cleaning up old/not used CF installs. Anyone know of one or have you done this already?

thanks,
brian

There is not requirement to remove older versions if you choose not to.
CF is designed to be able to run multiple versions if so desired as
long as the machine is strong enough.

If you do uninstall it, the only real advice is to make a backup of the
CFIDE folder of your new 8 version. Depending on the exact
configuration, the 6 server my point to the 8 cfide so that the
uninstaller will incorrectly remove this required directory. If you
have a handy backup ready this is an easy fix, if not -- lots of hair
pulling as a reinstall is often required.

If you need space in your HD, then I'd uninstall it after I make sure that I have ported over my application, custom tags, etc. There should be no issue having them both running on the same machine, but be aware of your machine capabilities.
