Question

CF9 on OS X Lion?

I use my Macbook Pro daily as my primary development computer, and before I pull the trigger on upgrading to 10.7 Lion I need to know how CF9 will perform because I cannot afford any downtime. I cannot find anything on this on the net so far, it looks like nobody tested it out officially.

If anyone has upgraded to 10.7, can you please let us know what issues you had with ColdFusion 9 running on it?

Didn't Lion come out literally today? I can't imagine many people have upgraded yet to be honest.

In saying that - it's Java. Therefore I really wouldn't anticipate any issues. I would suggest though that if you really can't do without your setup that you look into getting some kind of staging environment. "Buying software on Day 1" and "not being able to afford any issues" really do not go hand in hand.

It came out today, but it was out in Beta for months before. Other Adobe products were definitely tested because information on those already exists in official format. Just was hoping that CF might have been one of those. CF is Java, and Java no longer exists on OS X in Lion. It can be downloaded separately from Apple, but I wonder if that won't cause problems.

I'm doing research precisely because I know there can be risks buying something the day it rolls out.

When you say it no longer exists, do you mean it's no longer supported or they just don't bundle it in by default?

CF comes with its own runtime so if it's the latter it shouldn't be a problem. I'm obviously guessing though.
