Question

CF9 / Windows 7 / SQL 2005 cannot connect

I tried for over an hour to get support from Adobe ... over the phone .. beyond USELESS.

This is a brand new install.  Development on a laptop prior to production.

Using Windows 7 in Boot Camp on a Mac.  SQL 2005 installed fine and I can see all the database and tables.

CFS9 installed fine too.  I just cannot connect using Data Sources in the admin console.

I get the typical java.sql.NonTransientConnectionExcaption  etc. etc.

Anyone any clues?

Thank you so much!!!

Can you telnet onto the IP/port that SQL Server is listening on from the IP that CF is running on?  Can you connect - via TCP/IP - to the DB with other client applications other than CF/JDBC?

I seem to recall having problems connecting to SQL Server 2k5 unless it was fully patched... have you made sure it is?  This was a few years back, though, and my recollection is vague.

Might help to add that Windows 7 is 64 bit version and SQL server is

version 9.00.4035. ie Service Pack 3 is in.
