cfautosuggest bind failed

I have it setup right with cfc when i type in 2 or 3 letters it autosuggest and a user selects from the list and hits enter it works fine. but when they type the 3 letters fast and hit enter before the drop down appears. I get a bind failed for autosuggest item, bind value is not a 1d array. It seems that when you rush it trips up cfautosuggest. So is there an easy way to fix this? Or turn off the error. i used cfdebug and nothing comes up wrong. Any ideas
