Question

cfchart styles

I'm working on building some custom style files for charts (CFMX 7.0.2) so that they are closer to the look of our app. Is there really no way to customize the chart title? All other text elements seem to take the xml changes just fine, but the title stays the default, which is quite hideous. I'd like to anti-alias the text (like I have in the rest of the chart text), make it a little bigger and bold (like you would expect for a title), remove the box and shadow and use the font we've used throughout the rest of the app (and the other chart elements). Am I missing something?

Sorry...I guess I should have given more background in my original post. I am using Webcharts, and I love the control it gives me over so many attributes of the charts. BUT, for some reason, changes made to the font, font-size, font-weight of the chart title are not used by the charting engine in CF. It completely ignores the changes you make. It may be ignoring other font changes as well, but that's the only one I really care to make different, since it is the title of the chart after all. I'd like it a little bigger and bold.

I guess I just don't understand what reason Macromedia/Adobe would have for limiting the control of the charts. I can make these beautiful charts with any colors I want and any shapes as markers, etc., etc., but I have to have the title as a tiny little font that doesn't match anything else in my app.

Does anybody know if this has been changed in CF8? Have there been any enhancements to support additional attributes set in the XML file?

Hi,

You can use Webcharts to create your styles.

You can find the file webcharts.bat in the charting folder of your CF.

Just double-click and follow the steps.

Have fun!
