I think many CF developers have moved away from the UI elements embedded with the CF platform and instead integrate jQuery-based tools like jQuery DataTables. The last couple of projects I've worked on have been included stripping out cfselect, cfgrid, and other elements and replacing them with jQuery/Ajax.
